Poggibonsi

Economic and financial center has ancient origins as a Roman settlement of the soldiers of Catiline. Strategically located in the middle of the most famous cities and on major roads, it is now one of the major production centers of Tuscany: 90% of Italian Camper was born right here. The pleasant old town welcomes the special moments of the race.

Castles, fortresses, churches, and convents: the story of Poggibonsi is very large . Medici’s  Fortress commissioned by Lorenzo de ‘Medici to Giuliano da San Gallo,  castles  of Strozzavolpe  and Castle of Badia, La Fonte delle Fate by Balugano from Crema, its churches, all beautiful works that were fortunately saved from, intensive bombing during World War II that destroyed much parts of the town.

Colle di Val d’Elsa

It’s a town with a great tradition of production: paper mills and fulling mills animated the economic life since the Middle Ages. Today, alongside the architectural remains of the period and the authentic old town at the top, we find interventions designed by famous architects: Giovanni Michelucci has designed the new headquarters of Monte dei Paschi di Siena, while the renovation of Piazza Arnolfo, which we will cross with the Corsa, is signed by Jean Nouvel, who also designed other buildings in Colle.

Casole d’Elsa

Chiusdino

Characteristic Tuscan village which still retains much of its medieval urban fabric, Chiusdino rises over a bristling relief of metalliferous hills. Although its surroundings for signs of Etruscan settlements, Chiusdino states since its very name an ancient Lombard origin.

Montemassi

Medieval village located on the slopes of a hill overlooking the Maremma. Place full of history that in 1300 it was conquered several times by Siena , who have maintained possession until the fall of the Republic of Siena in the mid-sixteenth century. Of particular interest is the Castle and the majestic walls that embrace the entire small village. Simone Martini in 1300 represented the village in the famous painting titled “Guido Riccio da Fogliano”.

Grosseto

Capital of the Maremma, a city rich in historical buildings, an old town surrounded by huge and beautiful walls. For centuries, in the Maremma plain, has been the only refuge from robbers and malaria, plain that until the ’20s was, for the most part, an unhealthy and insidious swamp.

Small village located in the inland hills of the Maremma. High walls enclose a small recently restored old town very nice and full of businesses.

And ‘it situated in the center of the homonymous lagoon, WWF oasis where many species of wintering birds. Built on the end of the narrow peninsula that is projected on the lagoon in the last century has been linked to the Argentario by a spectacular road that seems to float on the lagoon itself.

The three marinas in the area are visited every year by a high-level international tourism which offers a grand spectacle of dream boats.

Porto Ercole

True fishing village in 2014 was included among the most beautiful villages in Italy. Forte Filippo, The Fort St. Catherine, Forte Stella, Torre del Mulinaccio, Rocca, stand around the village to witness the role of the defense that the village has had over the centuries. Always been a place of fishermen and fishing boats, it was the main point where, in its history, Alcide obtained supplies of fresh fish.

Montalcino

Hilltop village made famous for the production of Brunello wine, from which you can admire stunning views over the Val d’Orcia and Val d’Asso. It has very ancient origins (described as early as 800) and it always had a strong economy due to its strategic location along the Via Cassia and due to long periods of peace that has lived . Feature perpetrated to date with highly qualified wine production .

Buonconvento

Bonus Conventus in Latin means “happy place”: this medieval village already existed in 1100 . Its location, right on the Cassia Road, with large flat spaces, proved decisive for all events currently welcomes. It’s ‘the most important center of Val d’Arbia.

Le Crete Senesi

The crete Senesi are during the winter a lunar landscape due to the color gray-blue clay they are made of the rolling hills and during the  spring they  become  a “desert” green. Landscapes of great emotional impact due to the image very desolate land.

City known worldwide and UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Monteriggioni

A real castle built from scratch by the Sienese at the beginning of 1200. A magical place set in a crown of olive trees that cover the entire hill . Monteriggioni is inserted in the path of the Via Francigena from the Council of Europe, assuming for this motiv considerable tourist importance.

San Gimignano

Pearl of the medieval town, UNESCO World Heritage Site, the undisputed capital of the tourism of art villages: a unique experience offered by the Corsa the passage in its historical center, its wonderful squares.

Chianti

Chianti is an area that is itself a masterpiece, in which each element is in perfect harmony with the rest: his images are a symbol of Tuscany in the world, a place without equal, where beauty is truly mistress, territory , culture, art, tradition, business, technology, innovation, experience, all combined in a universal language of incomparable charm.

Greve in Chianti

His beautiful triangular square is the point of this catalytic active Chianti village. Home of the navigator Giovanni da Verrazano, houses in its place a monument erected in honor of the explorer.

The League of Chianti
In the thirteenth century the Chianti region was made up of the territories of only three municipalities: Radda, Castellina and Gaiole that formed the League of Chianti, military political administrative body pertaining to the Florentine Republic, created as a bulwark against regional Siena. The symbol was a black rooster,just the same imagethat  today symbolizes the Chianti Classico area.

Small tourist town, rich in history and breathtaking scenery was the political administrative headquarters of the League.

Gaiole in Chianti

It was the market place of the League, the place of commerce and trade. A nice little town with a social group very active and open. Here, twenty years ago, was born Eroica, vintage cycling event famous in the world, which every year brings in Gaiole more than 6000 participants.

Castellina in Chianti

Among the municipalities of Chianti was the one who suffered the most of all of the industrialization: large companies related to the agricultural world have embarked on a process of transformation of the territory that have strongly influenced the social fabric. It was the military headquarters of the League.
